The Jackson Hole Children’s Museum has best practice standards and processes in place for the cleaning, sanitizing and disinfection of the Museum, including exhibit areas, program classrooms and other common areas. These practices include:
The Center for Disease Control recommends the following preventative measures to stop the spread of germs. Our staff and visitors are required to follow these guidelines:
- Limited capacity to allow for social distancing.
- Symptom checks upon arrival at JHCM.
- All visitors age 3 and up are required to wear masks when inside the Museum.
- Masks must be at least 2 layers of material (no buffs or bandanas).
- Food and drink is currently not allowed in the Museum space.
- Multiple hand sanitizer stations located throughout the Museum.
- The Museum team cleans and wipes down exhibit areas and affixed and loose parts throughout the day as well as a thorough once-a-day cleaning. We sanitize and disinfect all toys and manipulatives as a part of our daily cleaning.
- The Museum custodial staff cleans common areas (bathrooms, handrails, etc.) on an ongoing basis throughout the week.
- All fabric and porous toys and props (costumes, puppets, etc.) have been removed if unable to be sanitized as above.
- Containers for toys placed in the mouth are located throughout the Museum and are cleaned with professional disinfectant, before they are returned to the Museum floor for use.
The Center for Disease Control recommends the following preventative measures to stop the spread of germs. Our staff and visitors are required to follow these guidelines:
- Avoid close contact with sick people. Please do not visit JHCM if you have been in contact with anyone who has Covid-19 symptoms or who has tested positive for COVID-19.
- Neither staff or visitors may come to JHCM if they have had COVID-19 symptoms or exposure. We require individuals to be symptom free for a minimum of 24 hours and to provide a negative COVID test or written permission from a physician before visiting JHCM.
- Cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze. After using a tissue, throw it in the trash and wash your hands.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth to limit the spread of germs.
- Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects frequently.
