JOB POSTING: Front Desk & Facilities Coordinator

Position Details:

This position is 30-35 hours/week. Benefits include 4 weeks paid time off (PTO), 4 holidays and employee health insurance coverage (60% of premium).

Pay rate:  commensurate with experience

Job Description:

  • Manage front desk and serve as first point of contact - Create welcoming and friendly culture; set standard for customer service; Patron and visitor check-in; answer phones; Book and communicate birthday party details
  • Oversee general operations and facilities - Quality control and cleanliness, including safety checks; Opening/closing procedures; Weekly staff scheduling; Track, order and stock supplies; Maintain/repair facilities and equipment
  • Manage membership program - Process memberships and renewals; oversee membership drives; Update/enter customer data in Point of Sale System
  • Manage program registration
  • Support marketing, accounting, and event planning efforts  
  • Run misc. errands – Bank, PO and recycling; other errands as needed

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Passion for education and play
  • Attention to detail; ability to multi-task; good time management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible
  • Skilled at taking initiative, thinking critically, and being resourceful
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (if not certified, JHCM will pay for training)

JOB POSTING: Substitute/Support Teachers

Position Details:

Start Date:  Immediately

Schedule:  as needed

Pay rate:  Starting at $15/hr (commensurate with experience); non-exempt position

Job Description:

  • Assist teachers with the implementation of enriching programs
  • Engage children and families in inquiry-based learning and exploratory play in our interactive museum spaces
  • Help maintain exhibits after periods of heavy play
  • Support museum operations, as needed

  • Transportation to/from the Museum is required
